Mentoring and Didactic Helpdesk
Mentoring
Personalised mentoring sessions for academic staff will be conducted by Didactic Advisors from the Ars Docendi Centre for Didactic Excellence. Advisor profiles, outlining their expertise, qualifications, and main areas of support, will be available on the centre's website.
The goals of the personalised mentoring sessions for academic staff are:
- Assisting in identifying academic teachers' resources in the area of teaching competencies and exploring ways to utilise them effectively in teaching;
- Supporting teachers in designing a development path to enhance their teaching competencies;
- Helping teachers address and overcome challenges in their teaching work;
- Preventing professional burnout by providing individual support and designing solutions to improve job satisfaction in teaching;
- Ongoing collaboration with teachers, supporting their competency growth, including building teaching portfolios, achieving teaching certifications, and conducting supportive classroom observations;
- Evaluating the effectiveness of the provided support.
The individual mentoring approach focuses on the relationship between the mentee and the mentor, aiming to foster independent and effective work among academic staff. This relationship follows a mentor-apprentice model.
